Bridal Shower Watermelon Lighted Centerpiece

Carved Watermelon CenterpieceThis would make a cute centerpiece on the food table. In addition, you can use the watermelon that you scoop out for fruit kabobs or a fruit salad.

Supplies:

  • 1 large watermelon
  • utensils used for pumpkin carving
  • a book with watermelon carving designs
  • 1 tealight candle
  • 1 large glass plate

Directions:

Cut bottom of watermelon so it can stand up on the plate and scoop out watermelon. I used the watermelon from inside in fruit salad for the shower. Attach stencil to front of watermelon, use a toothpick to poke holes along where you will cut. Take off the stencil and you will see a dotted line picture to carve out. Put a tea light inside.

Note: You cannot do this in advance as the rind starts to wither as a pumpkin would.

Nicely done! I really should think about getting married one of these days.

This is gorgeous - what a fun idea - and a different twist on the "watermelon boat"!
