Gooseberry Cobbler

Ingredients:
  • 4 cups gooseberries
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 3 Tbsp. oleo
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Topping:

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 cup boiling water

Directions:

Put gooseberries in the bottom of a buttered 9x13 inch baking dish. Mix sugar, milk, baking powder, oleo, flour, and salt. Spread this mixture over berries. Mix topping ingredients and sprinkle over batter. Pour boiling water over this. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Could you use blueberries or any other berry instead? We don't have gooseberries available where I live but do have blueberries. I would like to try this with the blueberries.
