Cleaning Wax Off Glass Candlesticks

The lady who is responsible for cleaning the glass candlesticks on the altar at our church amazed me when she put the candlesticks, which were covered with hardened wax drippings, into the freezer at church. When they were very, very cold, the wax just popped right off.

The errant bits that didn't just fall off required only the nudge of a fingernail. She says she even puts the metal altar candleholders in the freezer and the wax pops right off. I'm a little hesitant to try brass or silver candlesticks in the freezer but I have cleaned up all my glass ones at home using this method. It works!
