How do I get an Amaryllis to rebloom? My mother-in-law, said it can be done.

After flowering, leave the bulb in the pot so that the leaves can feed the bulb. When the leaves begin to wither, remove the bulb and store in a cool place. Replant just before Christmas in fresh potting compost.
I usually put it out in the garage once the flowers are past. This year I forgot to remove the bulb and I see it has started growing again:-( It will need extra feeding but it will be interesting to see if I get any 'heads' on it!
