I've heard kitty litter works well for oil. Not sure if it's the same for gas but worth looking into!

You can use kitty litter. Also, there is a specific product that is sold in places like Home Depot, Lowe's, etc. that is specifically for use in soaking up gas/oil. I don't know the name of it.
