I need centerpeice and decorations for a sports hall of fame banquet at a university. I could use any ideas.

How about using some cheap balls or toy size balls, i.e. basketballs, soccer balls, and cut the top open to stick a floral arrangement or a green plant in. Make some mini-pennants in team colors with felt or better, funfoam, or even construction paper, use floral tape to cover skewers, and attach pennants. Stick one or more in each "ball"
