There are 1000 churches in Grand Rapids, there has to be a few that will rent out their halls for a great price. If it's a summer wedding you could rent one of the pavilions around town (Riverside park/Comstock Park/Rockford/Towsen Park) And like the other person said, community rooms in apartment complexes or trailer parks may not be filled.

Consider large apartment complex community centers ... They are often very nice, of good size and have many ammenties such as a kitchen, sitting areas, etc ... They usually only ask a $100.00 to $200.00 fee ...
