Keeping Animals Off the Roof

I am looking for a device to deter animals (not squirrels) from the roof?

Spraying WD-40 will keep birds off of the roof. Not sure about other animals. It also will not harm them.

Yes, I'm picturing a small zoo of deer, raccoons, foxes, any number of critters including pesky neighbors. Just kidding.
