I am looking for a recipe from the 1950s or 60s. They were called "Gooey Buns" and contained cubes of ham, hard boiled eggs, cheese (Velveeta?) and some other ingredients? Then the mixture was placed in hot dog buns, wrapped in foil and baked in the oven until melted and gooey. I loved these when I was a child and my Mom made them often. Thanks for the help!
We called these "Hot Diggity Dogs". Chopped hot dogs, hard boiled eggs, relish and cheese. Put on hot dog buns, wrap in foil and heat in oven until hot. We never measured. We just added ingredients to taste.

Gooey Buns
Cheap, simple salad for sandwiches. I don't ever remember eating it on buns, but for some reason we always call it gooey buns? Sometimes I run the pickles through the food processor, other times I just chop it myself. I think that this recipe came from my Grandma, but I'm not sure The serving size is just a guess. Ingredients
* 1 lb ham * 2 pickles (or 1/2 cup relish) * 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese * 1/2-3/4 cup mayonnaise * 2 tablespoons mustard
Directions
Dice ham and pickles.
Mix all ingredients well, adjusting the amount of mayo to your taste. If desired, chill to allow flavors to meld. Serve on bread or buns - great for brown bags / picnics.
