Drapery Rod For A Changable Headboard
Drapery Rod For A Changable Headboard
I used a wooden drapery rod to make a holder for fabric or a quilt or bedspread to use as a headboard. It is cheap, fast, and can be changed quickly. Just be sure to use lightweight fabrics, or put a support in the center of the pole for heavy items. You can make it as high or as low as you like. This is now my favorite headboard.

You can also use PVC pipe in 1 1/2 inch or even 2 inch with the elbows to go back to the wall. Use some drapery pole supports to support the PVC.

What do you hang the rod on to, to get it to stay up?

This is a cute idea. On many of the do it yourself shows I have seen a lot of ideas for headboards but never this one. What a great idea for using those beautiful blankets, spreads, or pretty material instead of sticking them in a closet somewhere. You can even use different ones for different seasons.
