I actually made a cover for my machine with a white pillowcase, some bias binding and fabric paint. First, choose the right size case by measuring your machine's height at the tallest point and length at the longest point (don't forget to include any protruding bits). Then cut the case to the finished length you want. Finish the raw edge with bias (mine is green with small white pin dots), then paint on whatever design you fancy with coordinating fabric paints. You could also applique on shapes using iron-on patches or fusible web on fabric scraps. You can accent the edges of these with fabric paint which I find also seals the fusing for better wear.
