What a wonderful idea! Love them! yep, I'm going to do it too, thank you for this idea :) I was thinking about putting up a shelving unit and didn't want the things I put on it (like papers, mail).
This unit will be a addition to my desk but also will sit in my living room, so I'll be storing things on it also. How nice will it be and look with my very own baskets made of cloths that matches my decor. You have given to me my fall project, thank you! Great idea! I too had a "why didn't I think of that" moment! lol. If I may add a touch more? I would quilt the fabric with batting for a more sturdy "basket". Also, use fabric stiffener.
