I used to have cute country knick knacks here and there in my kitchen when I grouped them all together on one shelf it really "popped" together.

I think that grouping looks very nice and adds a coziness to your area.

I group items together like that and if it is not cluttered looking, it gives a cozy feeling to the area around it.
