I would like some information on either braided rugs or hooked rugs. My mom used to make braided rugs but she is gone so need some help.

I use to make them with my grandma. She would take strips of material about 1 inch wide and any length sew the strips together, when it was a workable length we would sew three together and start braiding, when we needed more strips we would sew on more. After about 20 feet of braid we would start a circle and by hand sew the braid into a circle or a rectangle or any shape you want. It was a lot of work but a lot of fun.

How do you make braided rugs?

You have to cut strips. Sew them together to make three long strips, braid them, then stitch them together as you go around.
