Picking a Baby's Name

Help! Baby boy due in a month, but no name has been picked yet. His sister's name is Summer Grace. Would like a name that goes with sister's name.

I love all the selections. Please let me know what you decide.

Make sure you give the boy a name, first or middle, that is recognized in the schoolroom or other social settings. It could be a family name that could be shortened for a nick name or the name of a relative you want to honor. Children can give each other unnecessary grief as teasing and names are one way to do it. Don't put something on your child that he'll remember negatively later...on the other hand, Summer Grace is a lovely name for a girl-child and girls are sometimes more forgiving on the playyard.

Jonquil? Jon for short. Think it's a woodland plant but Jon sounds masculine at least.

I know a family that have children named Willow and Ivy, I tell them that I want a little brother named Aspen. That is my suggestion although Forest is nice too.

What about Sonny? A play on the name, of sorts. I like the name Chase as well; Sonny Chase then.

Joel. Lucas. Leland. Hunter. Brian. Are all cute names.

I like the name Jackson. How about Jackson Chase? There is never a shortage of recommendations for baby names. Good luck with your sweet one!

It can be fun to choose a 'cute' name, but, think of what your boy will think of the 'cute' name when he's 14!

On a previous comment, I like River. But Meadow? For a boy?

How about Dusty Rhoads for a boy's name? Summer Grace is a beautiful name for a girl, but I had two sons. I'm raising my granddaughter, Austin, yep, she's a girl! she has a middle name of Tyler,so there you go. Almost any name you come up with will fit boy or girl now a days! Just have to make sure everyone knows what the 'sex' of the baby is wrap him up in a blue blanket!

I liked the name August for a boy. My husband didn't like so much. Good luck with your little boy=)

Decisions, decisions! It's a challenge to make good suggestions without testing the flow with the last name.

What about Sawyer, which means "woodsman?" Or Kendall, ruler of the river valley? Jovan is Hebrew for father of the sky. Beaumont (Beau or Bo for short) is French for beautiful mountain.

Some personal favorites are Silas (Greek for wood), Brook, Brock, Reed, Sage, Skye, Slade, Sloan, Ross, Garland and Griffin. I raised girls, but if I had ever had a son, I would have named him Bennett, which means "little blessed one!"

What an exciting time for you! I wish you an easy delivery and a speedy recovery! May God's love and blessings rain down upon you.

There is a little boy in my daycare and his name is "River Hunter" and his last name is Skylar. I love his name a lot and would go nice with your daughters name. :o) Congratulations to your new bundle of joy! :o)

I like the name Forest too but I would double the "r" and make it different for my child - Forrest and possibly the middle name Glen or Glenn.

I thought of another name that can be used as boy's name "Phoenix". It is of Greek origin, and its meaning is "dark red". The mythical bird known as the phoenix is a symbol of immortality. After living for centuries, it dies, then is resurrected from its own ashes.

Good luck picking out a name.

Boys names are hard - I think. You can always do River or Meadow - kinda goes with a summer theme.
