Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup + 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 pkg, mini chocolate chips

Directions:

Mix shortening, sugar, and brown sugar. Mix egg and vanilla. Mix flour, salt, and baking soda. Combine all 3 mixtures and add chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes.

Tip: Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 6 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 beaten egg
  • vanilla
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • quick oats

Directions

Lightly grease a cookie sheet. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add flour, egg, and a few drops vanilla. Beat well. Add chocolate chips. Shape by hand into little balls and roll in oats. Place on prepared cookie sheet and press down slightly. Bake in 350 degree F oven for 10-15 minutes, until golden brown. Remove from tray while still hot and place on wire rack to cool.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups oatmeal
  • 1 pkg. chocolate chips
  • nuts (opt.)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

Mix together butter and sugar. Add two eggs and mix. Sift dry ingredients together and all to wet mixture. Add remaining ingredients and mix to combine. Bake at 375 degrees F for about 10 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 2 unbeaten eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 cup boiling water
  • 1 - 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Directions

Sift the flour and salt together. In separate bowl cream butter, margarine, sugars, eggs and vanilla. Combine baking soda and water. Add to butter mixture. Add chocolate chips, nuts, and sifted mixture. Drop by 1/2 tsp. onto greased cookie sheet.

Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees F.

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup margerine
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease pans. Cream margarine with sugars, mix in eggs and vanilla. In another container, combine flour, salt and soda. Add to sugar/egg mixture slowly and mix well. Add chocolate chips (1 to 2 cups) and drop by spoonful onto cookie sheet. Leave room, they'll spread. Bake for 8-11 mins., until the edges are brown. Cool on the pan for 1 min., then transfer to a cooling rack. ENJOY! (10/19/2005)

Recipe: Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 pkg. chocolate chips

Directions

Beat shortening and margarine or butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed about 30 seconds or until softened. Add about 1/2 of the flour, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, baking soda and vanilla to shortening mixture. Beat until combined. Beat or stir in remaining flour; add chocolate chips.

Drop dough from a rounded teaspoon 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 375 degree F. oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are golden. Makes about 48 cookies

  • 1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) butter or margarine
  • 1 cup Crisco
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 1/3 cups instant pudding
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 4 tsp. vanilla
  • 6 cups (scant) flour
  • 2 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Directions

Blend margarine, Crisco, sugar, and eggs. Add rest of ingredients. Bake 8 minutes at 350 degrees F. Don't overbake!

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups cake flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup butter or shortening
  • 3/8 cup brown sugar
  • 3/8 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. hot water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 lb. sweet baking chocolate or chocolate chips
  • 1 cup pecan meats

Directions

Sift flour once, then measure and sift again with salt and soda. Cream the butter, add all sugar, and cream thoroughly. Add eggs and beat until mixture is light and fluffy. Add hot water and vanilla, then add sifted flour mixture. Add chocolate which has been coarsely chopped and the pecan meats. Drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 20 minutes in 350 degrees F oven. Makes 3 dozen cookies. (The amounts of brown sugar and granulated sugar are not typos. 3/8 is what is called for.)
