Post By Tawnda (Guest Post) (07/07/2004) Buy some posterboard. You can buy regular posterboard for anywhere from 35-60 cents a sheet, or you can buy a package of the smaller ones for like ten sheets for a couple of dollars. Or you can buy the foam board for less than $2 a sheet as well. Another option would be to cut a cardboard box to size or regular posterboard and glue the posterboard onto the front to save money rather than buying the foam board. You can draw signs on there, use a skien of that fun fur (found in yarn section for $1-2 each) and glue around edges. Or use glitter and glue. If you use the foam board or cardboard (which may be more practical if you are adding the fun fur and other things that add weight) you can buy a roll of craft wire (by the beads in the craft dept) and poke a hole on the top corner of each side of the foam board and thread the wire through the back to the front of one hole and leave about three inches or more and wrap around the wire on the top edge and use a pencil to wrap end of wire around to make it coil once removed from the pencil. If you want to coil the whole thing do it in sections until you come to the other end of the foam board and repeat the tie on the other end. This is your cute hanger for the foam board. If that is too much, you can buy a roll of ribbon in the width you desire and tie that onto each end use that to hang your poster. You could write, draw with glue and glitter, etc. things like, "DIVA", "STAR", "PRINCESS", etc. Or things like "Girls Rule" or the names of your favorite bands or YOUR name. Or if you collect dolphins, bears, or whatever you can add a picture of one of those from a magazine, buy a sheet of scrapbook paper to glue on there as background, etc. The options are endless! A craft idea that I bought to do in my daughters room and have not completed yet is to buy a couple bags of those wood chips in the craft section that you can paint and display in the shapes of daisies. We are going to stick those all over her room to have floating flowers on her walls. But you will need permission to stick things on your walls, but it is a cute idea. Have fun! Put some colored pillows on your bed to liven it up. You can put up some mirrors or posters on the wall, ones that you would want to look at everyday. Sometimes it's not so much the position of the furniture (there are only so many ways you can arrange a bedroom) but the other accessories that make a room look more like you want it. Look at some magazines for decorating ideas and color schemes. Sometimes really simple things can make things look much better. Susan Report Spam or Abuse
