You can use makeup to supplement you sunscreen! Zinc oxide is an ingredient in most foundations - the same as in sun block. So I use inexpensive stick foundation where I freckle in addition to my sunscreen. (I got the idea from some sun-tinted zinc oxide sunscreen I ran across.) It has the extra advantage of being relatively sweat-proof. And it's so thrifty!
