Recipe: Taco Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 16 oz. jar salsa (your preference on heat level, I use medium)
  • 1 pack cream cheese, 8 oz.
  • 1 box of Velveeta (preferably Velveeta Mild Mexican*
  • Tostitos, or any corn chips
*not available all over, I've had to search to find it

Directions

Brown the ground beef; add taco seasoning and salsa, cook until warm.

In an oven safe dish, spread the cream cheese along the bottom of the pan. Add the ground beef mixture over the cream cheese layer. Slice the Velveeta to completely cover the ground beef.

Cover with foil and bake in a 350 degree F oven for about 30 minutes, or until cheese becomes bubbly. Remove foil cover and bake another 15 minutes, until cheese is completely melted.

Remove from oven and allow to cool 15 minutes before serving.

We sometimes make this dish for dinner or as a great party appetizer! Enjoy!
