Archived on 04/18/2007
I have ink marks on a brand new red nylon backpack. Cleaning suggestions would be appreciated.

I have used methylated spirits on ink marks, with great results. Just soak marks with the methylated spirits first, let it soak in for a while, then wash.

Try some hairspray. I always use that to get out ink spots off of clothes. Just spray on and take a paper towel and keep dabbing. Spray and dab. Then wash. (05/25/2005)

Try spraying ink spots with hairspray then wash area with shampoo. It should come out just fine. (05/25/2005)

Rubbing alcohol. If you must rub, do so in a circular motion from outside edge of stain to center of stain. This prevents stain form bleeding outward. (05/26/2005)
The hair spay did the trick, there is stil a little spot of ink but you can't really tell. I tried the rubbing alcohol and it did not work for me. (06/06/2005)
