Banana Split Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup margarine, softened
  • 2 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 large can crushed pineapple, drained well
  • 3 large bananas, sliced lengthwise
  • 1 large carton Cool Whip
  • chopped nuts
  • chopped cherries

Directions

Combine graham cracker crumbs, 1/2 cup melted margarine and 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar in bowl. Press into bottom of 9x13 inch pan. Beat egg whites, remaining 2 cups confectioners' sugar and remaining 1/2 of softened margarine in mixing bowl on high speed for 10 minutes. Pour over crumb crust. Spoon pineapple over cream layer. Arrange bananas on top. Spread Cool Whip over bananas. Sprinkle with nuts and cherries. Chill for 15 minutes.

Recipe: Banana Split Cake

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup margarine, melted
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup margarine, room temperature
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 sliced bananas
  • 1 can pineapple, crushed and drained - large can
  • 2 packages. strawberries (10oz. each)
  • 1 large container Cool Whip
  • 1/2 cup nuts
  • 1/2 cup maraschino cherry halves

Directions

Combine melted margarine and cracker crumbs, press in 9x13 inch pan. Beat together margarine, eggs and powdered sugar and beat for 15 minutes until creamy. Pour over crust. Slice bananas over filling, then put pineapple over bananas. Put strawberries over pineapple. Can reserve a few strawberries for garnish. Cover with Cool Whip. Sprinkle with nuts and cherries. Cool and serve.
