Ingredients

  • 3-4 lb. Beef Brisket (do not use corn beef brisket with the spices)
  • 3-4 cups Ketchup
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 3/4 cups Instant Coffee (not Decaf)
  • I Large oven bag

Directions

Preheat oven 325 degrees F. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and heat slightly in microwave covered to prevent bubbling and making a mess. When very warm, and mixture is mixed well it is done. Place brisket in oven bag, pour mixture over and seal bag. Place in oven about 2 1/2-3 hours. Pierce bag to check for tenderness of meat. When meat pulls apart easily, it is done. Remember most ovens vary on temps.

I serve with mashed potatoes, veggie and rolls. But you can use this as pulled beef also.

Source: My husband Howard used to make this for his fishing buddies, when they went to Canada. And for the family.

Hello, do you put the dry coffee granules in with the other ingredients or do you make up the coffee with water?
