Craft: Shabby Chic Christmas Centerpiece

I already had an old pitcher filled with pink silk roses. To make it more festive, I simply tucked in some gold colored trim from AC Moore (about a buck a piece). Then I sat it on a nice tray and scattered pretty ornaments around it which I had around but were too heavy for my tree. You do this with a country look (use a crock or a tin vase) any colors you like, pine cones around. There are so many options!

I have also taken wide glass vases filled them with different size Christmas balls and tucked silk flowers in. Really pretty!

Very, very pretty. One thing I did was to take a clear large glass vase and just add a few ornaments and some small twigs and branches (my backyard). I like your idea of putting it on a tray and putting the ornaments around it.

That's very pretty! A lot of my holiday decorating involves this same technique of adding decorations to my existing home accessories. It's quick, easy and relatively inexpensive. One thing I find especially handy are the large individual Christmas flowers like poinsettias that may or may not have a clip attached. You can sometimes find these on sale after Christmas. Scatter a few around anywhere, add a few loose shiny ornaments, and you have an instantly festive look.
