Your dog and a few of the others on this page are Austrialian Kelpie with Lab mix. Google (images) the breed online and you can see for yourself.

Mine is a lab x doberman mixed with German shepherd. The lab and shepherd seem to stand out the most. She does have a tiny white mark under her chin. I can see a resemblance to yours, do her ears do weird things!

How weird! It was almost like looking at mine own, do her ears flip inside out or cross in the middle when she stands them up. My girl's mum is a lab doberman her dad is German shepherd.

I just saw the photo of your pup and could not dismiss the resemblance to our 7 yr. old. shep. mix we recently rescued. Our dog has one ear up and one ear down, usually is very alert and attentive and has several qualities of the common shepard but we were told by several vets that he is most likely a Belgium Malinois mix. You could always order the DNA kit test on line and truly find his heritage.
Good luck with your pup. Most shelters like to say pups are mixed with black lab when they are mixed with a less desirable breed but it's really not about the breed-it's about how one chooses to raise their pet.

Hi, I've got a one year old German shepherd x border collie called Jake, your photo is the spitting image of him! We did think he was a lab x German shepherd initially when he was a puppy because his face seemed more round, now he has grown with a slightly longer and pointed face so we definitely think collie cross.

Your dog looks just like my black lab/german shepherd mix. He even has the white on his chest and on some of his paws. He is only 2 1/2 months old, but his ears are starting to stand up.
He sleeps really funny. This is a picture of him sleeping face down on the couch.

I just got the results from a canine breed DNA test: primary breed could not be determined, secondary German shepherd, and "in the mix" Airedale and Bernese Mountain dog. I guess she's just a mutt!

Possibly Border Collie? Border Collies are black and white and I have a Shepherd/BC mix and he is very similar to your dog.

DEFINETLY a German Shepherd cross. Not a Kelpie. I raise and train Kelpies and and am a dog trainer. This is def a Shep cross.

I just got a puppy 12 wks old who is a spitten image of your dog. I was told he was German Sheppard-Black Lab mix. Your dog definitely has black labrador in it.

If you know of a petco in your area they do DNA testing too see the exact mix that your dog is. I am not sure if all petco's do this but the petco's out here in MN do DNA testing. They can also give you exact amounts of the breeds if you really want to know.

It's funny because my husband and I rescued what they said was a Border Collie mix and we swear she's mixed with German Sheperd because her ears are way to big for her head and stand straight up. when she was a puppy one ear would stand up and the other folded over. Your dog looks almost exact to our dog. There's a good chance your dog is mixed with Border Collie. Same color, same white spots on chest and neck and on the tips of her paws.

Hi! I have just adopted a similar looking dog - the adoption agency got it wrong according to the vet - mine looks to be a German Shepherd/Border Collie mix. (Adoption agency thought she had lab in her and maybe boxer, but since the vets analysis, it really makes sense about her markings, temperament, and agility). Enjoy!

I THINK YOUR DOG IS CUTE. I HAVE A 5 1/2 MONTH OLD PUPPY IDENTICAL TO YOURS. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THAT ONLY THE TIP OF HIS EAR IS OVER. HE IS VERY AFFECTIONATE AND LOVING. I WAS TOLD HE WAS A KELPIE/BLUE HEELER CROSS BUT NOW I'M NOT SURE.

My pup is 6 months old now and she looks a lot like your dog. Mine is solid black but she has the ears like your dog. Mine is mixed lab and collie. Mine loves to retrieve the ball for me and I guess that is where the lab comes in.
