How can I tell how much ink is in the compatible cartridges as compared to the originals?

The thing I do is date the cartridge when I insert it and then when it runs out I see how long it has lasted. Most refills last a good while and are a good deal compared to the price of them!
Take the ink cartridges to a store that refills them and have them weighed and they can tell you approximately how much ink you still have in them. That the way I do it when I think they are getting low and I want to do some picture printing. Nikki Lewis
