Triple Chocolate Cake In Pint Jars

My sister-in-law makes a Triple Chocolate Cake that is made in pint jars. I would like the recipe and how to bake them in the jars without asking her. I always end up purchasing her cakes, along with homemade candies every reunion. I can't ask her to share her secrets. Can anyone help?

Fried Chicken Casserole

I am making a casserole for a large Amish family who is moving from our area in Ohio to a community in Wisconsin. We will miss them so much!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup onion, minced
  • 1 Tbs garlic, minced
  • 1 cup celery, minced
  • 1/4 cup green pepper, minced
  • 1 lb shell macaroni, cooked in salted water to two minutes under the recommended time
  • 1 small can sliced mushrooms
  • 2 cans mushroom soup
  • 1 can cheddar cheese soup
  • 4 cup water
  • 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 3 cup flour
  • 1 Tbs paprika
  • 1 tsp poultry seasoning
  • olive oil and butter for frying
  • Shredded Kojak Cheese for the topping

Directions

Saute vegetables in a bit of olive oil and combine with the cooked macaroni in a LARGE baking pan. Add the soups and water and stir till well combined.

Shake flour, poultry seasoning and paprika in a plastic bag. Add chicken cubes and shake to coat. Fry in a combination of olive oil and real butter until nice and brown. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Combine fried chicken with the macaroni mixture and cover the top with shredded cheese. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 to 35 minutes until bubbly and the cheese is golden.

Creamy Ham Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups light cream or milk
  • 1 can chicken broth (10 oz. size)
  • 1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 3 cups cooked wild rice
  • 1 can mushroom stems and pieces, drained
  • 12 thin slices fully cooked ham
  • 1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • parsley flakes - to taste

Directions

Prepare wild rice according to package directions. In a large pan, saute onion in butter until transparent. Stir in flour, garlic powder and pepper until smooth and bubbly. Gradually stir in light cream, small amounts at a time. Stir until smooth. Add broth and mustard. Cook until thickened. Put 1/3 of mixture over bottom of 9x13 inch pan, reserving another 1/3 for topping. To the remaining sauce, add rice and mushrooms. Spoon onto each ham slice. Roll up and place seam side down onto sauce in pan. Top with reserved sauce. Bake uncovered 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees F until heated through. Top with cheese and parsley flakes.

Taco Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 16 oz. jar salsa (your preference on heat level, I use medium)
  • 1 pack cream cheese, 8 oz.
  • 1 box of Velveeta (preferably Velveeta Mild Mexican [not available all over, I've had to search to find it)
  • Tostitos, or any corn chips

Directions

  1. Brown the ground beef; add taco seasoning and salsa, cook until warm.
  2. In an oven safe dish, spread the cream cheese along the bottom of the pan.
  3. Add the ground beef mixture over the cream cheese layer.
  4. Slice the Velveeta to completely cover the ground beef.
  5. Cover with foil and bake in a 350 degree oven for about 30 minutes, or until cheese becomes bubbly.
  6. Remove foil cover and bake another 15 minutes, until cheese is completely melted.
  7. Remove from oven and allow to cool 15 minutes before serving.

We sometimes make this dish for dinner or as a great party appetizer! Enjoy!
