Paint to Relax

Here is the photo to go with the tip about how relaxing painting can be. It really is fun!

If you are painting exterior items outside such as a porch, you need to use oil-based paint. It takes longer to dry, but it lasts years through any weather.

Planting Tender Sprouts

When planting these young and tender sprouts make sure you do not cover the stems. Use tender loving care and they will bloom. Must feed, love and entertain regularly for optimum growth. Do not be alarmed by the ever present dirt on these sprouts.

Skye Hunting for Dinner

My dog (Skye) hunting for dinner. How more thrifty can you be than to send your dog out for a wild turkey to bring back for dinner?

Dakota (American Eskimo/Beagle)

This is Dakota, my part American Eskimo and beagle mix. He came to me when he was just a few hours old, on August 14th, 2003, as the runt of the litter of 6. He was very small, just 3/4 of an ounce and the vets in the area said he would not make it. The mother refused to take care of him.

I bottle fed him every two hours, stimulated him to make him go potty, kept him warm with a hot water bottle in his box and even had to burp him! I had to treat him like a real baby and it was worth all the sleepless nights to raise him. He is now going on two years old and is such a joy in my life. He loves to play, go chase the squirrels in the yard, go to the park and run, take car rides, and chew on ice. I have taught him to do many things and the one I like the most is the kisses and hugs!

Long Driveway Planter

This is a very long driveway planter. It is made from long narrow shipping crates that held steel roller assemblies. I painted them and my husband moved them into place aligned and attached them to make one long planter. The picture doesn't show the entire planter as I can't seem to get a good shot. It is actually 4 crates long.

Buy a Few Seeds, Bring a Lot of Sunshine

Go to literally any store and browse through the humble paper packages of flower seeds until you've found some bright colored ones that bring a smile to your face. I bought a simple package of white daisy flower seeds with yellow centers and I planted them next to an old tree in the back yard. After I watered them a few times, they grew up and into this glorious sight! Just viewing them from the window brings much needed sunshine into my day and cheers me up.

Dry Erase Marker on Walls

My nephew drew all over the walls in our study with dry erase marker! I've tried Mr. Clean sponge and fingernail polish remover but everything also takes the paint off!

Does anyone know how to get dry erase marker off of painted walls without taking the paint off too?

I found a couple of aluminum pot scrubbers sometime ago; they never rusted and last a long, long time. I can't find them again.
Does anyone know where I can buy them?

My best friend and I are sharing our Birthday party this year in September, and we need some help. We're looking at a party for under $300, but pretty nice, because people will be bringing 2 gifts. We like the idea of a something Hollywood or a "Black and White Dress Code" theme, but we're not sure where exactly to go with that! We are open to ANY ideas! Please help!

Thanks,
Liz
