We went on a trip and as we stopped and had something to eat and we heard something jump into the trash can. This little squirrel grabbed the apple and looked at us and said "I gotta eat too, you know!"
These "cute" rats-with-tails are so prolific in my neighborhood that they literally gnaw through garbage cans to get what they want. I see nothing endearing about them, but you can have ours if you want them...

What a beautiful wonderful photo! That's "postcard" material!
I have a friend who just loves all animals. You should see these critters as they all line up for food each morning. A squirrel, 2 rats and some birds. They all sit there together peacefully as she feeds each in turn with no fighting whatsoever! (05/06/2009)
Hi Deeli, I too made this my desktop wallpaper! Your buddy certainly is a cute little critter. I have enjoyed feeding the squirrels for years.
