Batman Theme Party Ideas |
|
|
Our son is turning 7 the end of June and wants to have a "Batman" themed Birthday party. We are thrifty but we just aren't coming up with any ideas. I don't have a stock pile of halloween stuff which would work so we are looking for any suggestions from games to party favors, etc.
Thanks, Karaof4 from MN

you could bake bat shaped sugar cookies and the kids could decorate them as a project

Invitation ideas might include a pair of black, webbed Batman wings made of Rubber or flexible paper. To make them really authentic make them have actual ribs (say, perhaps, toothpicks or popsicle sticks) that open to an invitation written in the form of a riddle.

I wouldnt buy material for capes, I would use trash bags, cut down the side. You can change almost any game, pin the wings on the bat.

You could go to Good Will or a yard sale and pick up some dark sheets. Get black dye at the grocery store to dye the fabric black. Buying already dark sheets will ensure you don't end up w/ gray. Cut out "capes" for all the party goers. Use the scraps to make the masks. Don't worry about fancy - just do the kind that wrap around the eyes. Turn your living room into the 'lair' by putting dark curtains or sheets over windows then protect your furniture w/ white sheets or table cloth. Buy a black-light bulb (craft stores or a pet store) and all the sheets will glow and be scary. You could take the 40 white t-shirts that have been collected from various thing, but you don't want to throw away - turn them inside out if there's a logo, use a black sharpie marker to draw a big bat on - then the kids will glow too w/ the sign of batman on their chest. A standard flashlight w/ a small black bat made of electrical tape or construction paper taped on it, then shining in the corner will create "The Bat Signal". Cake: Make a couple sheet cakes - cut out the shapes of the bat wings - two layers, so it's thick. Any cake/craft shop will have black frosting gel - it's better than regular food coloring. Mix that with store bought frosting and you're good to go. All the kids get to keep their capes, masks and shirts. Maybe you could do a "Bat Skills Obstacle Course" in the yard where everybody tests their super hero powers.

One place I have found to get low cost party favors with themes that can sometimes be hard to find is Oriental Trading Company, Inc. They might have something there at low cost.
