Dental Self Care |
|
|
Dentists don't tell you everything about dental self-care, somehow. I have discovered that you can use good denture adhesive cream even on temporary partials to make them more comfortable. Also you can use orthodontic wax to cover rough edges/gaps. (Even use to replace missing teeth in an emergency!) Also use astringent mouthwash such as you find in the health food store to help with gums. After any dental procedure, use hot salt water rinses/peroxide rinses 2 - 3 times a day to help with healing!

RE: Dental Self Care
I'm a Dental Assistant----and normally I have to tell my patients these little secrets!!! Toothpaste helps too----it can be used as an emergancy adhesive (mainly for temporary crowns). I think its the Assistant that should help give helpful hints!! I've been doing it for 15 years!!! I would look for ortho wax in the pharmacy area---with the dental care products!! Just ask---should be near, but some stores just don't carry it!!! Go into your Dental Office and ask for a package of it. Alittle goes a long way!! But, good Dental care does start with a good staff!!
RE: Dental Self Care
