Read several Archives at bottom of this page. You didn't mention as to the age of the refrigerator. Call around to find out what a service call would cost you to have someone look at and the cost of having it fixed.

Also you can find some very nice refrigerators under appliances-used in the yellow pages. Why spend a lot of money, when you can purchase a used one. Most of the trade-in models are only a few years old any way.

Refrigerator Not Working

Our Whirlpool side by side refrigerator just stopped working. It is not even 2 years old, but the warranty is up. The lights are on, but it doesn't get cold. We adjusted the setting to colder to no avail. Any ideas on something else we might check? The company and the store have been no help at all. Thanks!

RE: Whirlpool Refrigerator Not Working

It probably is not anything as simple as this, but do you ever vacuum underneath it where the coils are? I have a Whirlpool side by side and I know it gets really full of dust and pet hair under there and I have to vacuum it out every now and then. Those coils really need to be kept clean. (09/14/2009)
