Use Warm Water When Frosting Cake

When frosting a cake with a rubber spatula, first dip in some warm water then proceed to frost. It helps apply smoothly and and preventing little pieces of the cake from coming off. Reapply the dipping method as needed.

If you make a thin coat of icing that is called a crumb coat on the cake first using the dipping method, then the crumbs will be set and the second coat will go on with not problem with crumbs. Information for Cake Decorating class
