Why rig that? Sun Shades are not terrible expensive, especially indoor shades. They'll look much nicer.
http://www.thehis.com/solarus_sun_shades_overview.html is a company in San Diego that does them.

that's a good idea ! Do you mean the kind that have suction cups?
Wax paper is inexpensive so I bought some so it lets the light in but keeps the heat out.

Use Car Shades In Sunny Windows

A car shade in a bright window I like looking outside my kitchen door/window, but I don't like the sun adding to the heat of my room in the summer. I found rear car shades that have suction cups on them. These are an inexpensive way to keep out the sun and still be able to see outside.
