Clouds are amazing! I always loved studying them in school and 50 years later, they still are my favorite. This is a formation I took in Texas.
Rays of sunshine like the ones in your photo always remind me of William Alexander's paintings. His oils were always so lavish and rich. A wonderful artist.
Thanks for sharing your lovely skyscape. :-)

This photograph was taken in a canyon in New Mexico. The view was spectacular and I couldn't resist taking a picture of the fake-looking clouds.
Today the sky had this unique lavender shade. It was one of the most attracting thing I've ever seen.

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing. (10/07/2010)
I love clouds and the sky was filled with this sort of pattern one night, it was awesome. I've never seen anything like it before. And I actually learned later on the news that when you see these kinds of clouds, you can expect severe weather. We certainly did have severe thunderstorms for like a week after this was taken.
I saw clouds like this once, followed by a hailstorm! (09/14/2010)
These are called "mammary" clouds (for obvious reasons), and for pilots are a signal of dangerous weather that should be avoided at all costs! (09/14/2010)
I also love clouds and have never seen anything like these! (09/14/2010)
When I was a kid my siblings and I called them tilt-a-whirl clouds , because the shape of them reminded us of the back/top of the seats on the tilt-a-whirl at carnivals. (09/21/2010)
We took the kids to the local drive-in theater last Friday (July 30th). Since we kind of live in the woods, we don't often see the wide open sky and it was just breathtaking! I loved watching the sun set later in the evening, but in this pictures the blue sky and white clouds were amazing!
A very lovely cloud and blue sky photo indeed! :-) (08/17/2010)
I really enjoy taking pictures of clouds and storms. They do not stay here long since we are in a "holler".
