I have found a tip(forget where),but if you take some shaving cream, rub on the mirrow, then take a clean cloth and wipe off,it will get the mirrow clean. And also as an added bonus, your mirrow will not fog up,when taking a shower.I was pretty skeptical about it, until I tried it. It does work. Weezy

I would take a piece of newspaper, wet it and wipe it down. This actually can be used in place of windex. The ink in the paper will not stain, but actually cleans the mirror.

I was going to suggest rubbing alcohol to cut through the buildup.
Just do not use anything with grit so as to not scratch your mirror and dont let anything seep or drip behind the mirror obviously so not to etch the silvering.

I would think Windex would do the trick. But if not, straight Vinegar should work. Then you can clean it with the Windex.
