Mow your own lawn, rake your own leaves and shovel your own snow. You save paying someone else and also on gym memberships!

Excellent idea! If you look through any old magazine, you can see the push lawn mower being advertised for physical fitness and healthy exercise. I will have to find my old copy to get the words right. This was in the "high end" magazines! I loved doing it until physical issues ended it for me. I really miss it. It's a great workout and you are not sniffing gas fumes or cutting the cords on an electric one either.

That's a very good idea. If everybody that's able would do more around their place it would be very good for them & help them stay in shape. I enjoy work. It keeps me in shape plus I walk a mile every day. I have a big garden year round, with lots of flower beds all around our home. I'm a farm lady. I were born & raised on a farm.

When I got married we bought a large farm. I were out there helping my hubby all the time. When I had time I did all our sewing (I had 2 babies), making our clothes & some for the neighbors & friends. I also did some baby sitting & much more. I have never been over weight. I'm retired now, and live in town. People here call me a workaholic.Keep moving, good luck.

My grandfather worked in his multi-acre garden until he was 90+ years old. It's all a matter of what you're used to doing, I guess. I personally use a reel mower (manual - no motor) and save on lawn maintenance, pollution and get exercise for free. My neighbors stare when they see me mowing the lawn and talking on the phone at the same time. Guess they didn't realize you could do those two things at one time! It's entertaining.

That is great if you are a younger person ... older seniors ... not a good idea.

Older seniors can benefit from doing other exercises.
