Turtle Burgers

These "Turtle Burgers" are just so very cute, creative, and fun that they definitely need to be shared with my entire ThriftyFun family and not just the recipe lovers! A little crispy and not too crunchy; just how a turtle should be ;-) Bon Appetit!

Directions:

Make your handmade ground beef patties, top with sharp cheddar cheese, wrap in a bacon weave, then add hotdog pieces for the head, legs (with slits for toes), and a tail. Place on an oven rack, cover loosely with foil, and bake for 20 to 30 minutes at 400 degrees F.

Source: I received this in an email from my friend, Solo, who was my most excellent mechanic for many years when I lived in Los Angeles.

Mmmmm, bacon. They look delicious, but I'll bet you could hear your arteries plugging up. What the hey, I'm going to try them anyway!

Hello Deeli, Both my partner and I love turtles (the real ones) I wonder if we would have a problem eating these little guys! ;) They are just way too cute!

This would be a great low carb option at a cookout, if you used the right hotdogs. I wonder how many odd looks I would get if I made these. lol

How bad for you can these possibly be! But how fun to make for a family/friend BBQ! Great idea, thanks for sharing, can't wait to try it on my grand kids!

Awwwwww. They look just like turtles. What a creative way to serve kid's something they'll enjoy and hopefully will eat. I would like one too. TeeHee.
Thank you for sharing.

What a cute idea Deeli. I'm betting all the kids loved them. Very novel way of making a baconburger-hotdog, and I guess I'll have to try this one day. See how the future doctors of America will like them. LOL I can hear them "hooting" already.

Thanks to your mechanic and to you.
A big thumb's Up.
