The surprise is that even people who normally shun cabbage, will enjoy this dish. I love potatoes but try not to overdo it. The potato taste dominates and makes this such a great comfort food. You can add any leftovers to broth or other soup, too, to make a creamy and delicious soup.
Ingredients:
One small or 1/2 large cabbage, cored and cut into chunks
The same amount of scrubbed boiling potatoes*, also cut into chunks
Several cloves of garlic, roasted or raw according to your taste
1/2 tsp. each herb salt and plain salt, or to taste
1-2 Tbsp. butter
Chopped parsley, to taste
*Leave skin on red potatoes, adds attractive flakes of pink
Directions:
Steam potatoes and cabbage together, until both are soft.
Puree all but parsley in food processor; add parsley at end.
