This is my family's favorite cake too.
And we also call it better than sex cake.
(out of hearing of the little ones, of course)
Definitely add the caramel topping- you will not be disappointed.
I usually try to make it the day before. We think it tastes better after it sits in the fridge overnight.

OH YUM! You posted one of my favorite recipes!! We've made this for years, but we call it "better than sex" cake. It's one of our all time favorites in my family.

One thing we do differently is we use a wooden skewer to poke holes in the cake so the Eagle Brand really gets in the cake. Then after we pour that over the cake, we pour about 3/4 of a jar of caramel ice cream topping over the cake. And these should really be done when the cake first comes out of the oven so it soaks everything up really well.

Once the cake is completely cool, we do the cool whip and the heath bars, and then drizzle the rest of the caramel over the top, and we'll even put chocolate shavings or curls on the cake.

This is by far one of the best cakes in the world, but you need to have a strong cup of espresso or a glass of milk with it. EXTRA RICH!
