At Christmas I use one color of wrapping paper for each family. Example my brothers family gifts I give I will use blue paper and my sisters family gifts I give I will use red. It helps with time all I have to do is gather all of one color per family it saves a lot of time that night looking through all the gifts.

I color code too. But also... I don't use prints. I use regular plain colors that can be used all year long incase I have left over paper from the roll. I save a ton of cash on wrapping paper this way because I can buy it on those large rolls and not only that but I can also get it at after Christmas sales.
I also have four children. all boys

I HAVE 3 KIDS, WE HAVE ALSO USED..HUEY,DEWEY,AND LOUIE AS CODE NAMES
ANOTHER YEAR WE DID THE LAST 2 DIGITS OF THE YEAR THEY WERE BORN IN REVERSE, LIKE IF THEY WERE BORN IN 1981, THEIR CODE WAS 18,1983 CODE WAS 38 ETC..WE HAD A LOT OF FUN THINKING UP DIFFERENT THINGS TO PUT ON THE TAGS. THEY NEVER COULD FIGURE OUT WHO GOT WHAT GIFT

Colour coding!
I am doing that this year with my 4 kids.
During the year they all had their bedrooms theme decorated, therefore there isn't much money left for "under the tree" Christmas presents.
They chose a different roll of wrapping paper each, and I wrapped about five presents for each child.
The fun will start Christmas morning when they "hunt" for their colour coded presents hidden around the house.
It is Summer in Australia at C'mas, so I may even hide some outside. This activity will also prevent the wrapping paper frenzy.
