Baby At The Beach |
It's the time of year to take little ones to the beach. However, sand and babies don't mix. I find a 2 ring blow up wading pool is perfect. It's compact to the from the beach, safe, clean, and you can even make padded round sheets and blankies for the inside. If you don't want ants or sand bugs to get inside, sprinkle a mixture of 3 parts cinnamon and 1 part cayenne pepper, around the perimeter. Baby won't get any in their eyes or mouth, and the mixture can easily be mixed into the sand where it's harmless to fish or any pets that might lick it. Keep an umbrella handy to shade the wee one, hooking the handle around one of the rings. You can even make a little "survival" bag with sun screen, a pump, toys, etc.
Source: I came up with this idea when someone asked if putting a circle of talc around the baby would work. No, it's harmful if eaten or put in eyes. This is much safer and very cheap.
