You need to cook them before refreezing to be safe and I wouldn't bother even doing that if they've been thawed for more than three days for safety sake.

Can you refreeze ribs that were thawed in the refrigerator two days ago? They are uncooked.

RE: Refreezing Uncooked Meat

I have always heard, for many years, that the only way a person should refreeze uncooked meat is if there are still ice crystals in it. (11/08/2010)

I would simply cook them, and then freeze them! (11/08/2010)

RE: Refreezing Uncooked Meat

I wouldn't unless they were cooked. Personally I wouldn't even do that unless they were cooked and refrozen within at least four days! (11/09/2010)
