Cheddar Scalloped Potatoes

Easy Breezy Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes. Just that easy and cheesy!

Ingredients:

  • 3 potatoes
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped onion
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/3 cup half and half or milk
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup cheddar cheese

Directions:

Slice the potatoes thin, sprinkle flour over the potatoes and stir then add all the other ingredients leaving the 1/4 cup cheddar cheese to top the potatoes with.

You can make a sauce from the cheese, half and half, flour and salt and pepper, then pour over the rest and then top with the 1/4 cup cheddar cheese if you want. Some people find it smoother by doing this.

Sounds tasty!! But...
1) Do you split in half, the flour. Half to use in the potatoes, then half in the sauce?
2) Size of casserole dish? and assuming it's greased/oiled/buttered?
3) Bake at maybe 350 degrees?
Just curious. don't cook a lot and want to get it right!
Thanks!

  • 1 Tbsp. instant minced onion
  • Velveeta or American cheese

Directions:

Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour or until potatoes are tender. Uncover and garnish with cheese slices during last part of baking. Placing them in the microwave a few minutes helps shorten baking time.
