My son is getting married this summer. He wants a luau themed rehearsal dinner, very fun and relaxed. I know I can order decorations from some of the web sites but does anyone have suggestions for things we can do, music we can play, decorations, and (most needed) food suggestions? You are all wonderful in my book, thanks!

My son is getting married this summer too and we are doing a luau rehearsal! I am planning Kalua pig, and Hawaiian chicken, Orange salad, I need to come up with one more veg. Then banana nut bread for dessert. Go to your search engine luau recipes, Oriental Trading co. Has tons of decoration, music, etc. Hope this helps.

My finance and I are also getting married next summer. Our Wedding is a "hawaiian" themed wedding. I am having to buy almost everything online. But I have been to Hawaii and for a "luau" dinner, they cook a pig in a pit in the ground. So we are having a BBQ place cater our reception. Try search "Hawaiian traditions" on the internet, you can get a lot of great ideas from their sites.

Watch the movie Runaway Bride with Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. They have a Luau for their rehearsal dinner also. It might help with the decor. When I think of Hawaiian food I think pig roast and pineapple. Maybe a pineapple upside down cake. Hope the movie suggestion works for you!

How about Elvis Presley's Blue Hawaii for the music? I always thought that was such wonderful music for a Hawaian type wedding. Especially the song Can't help falling in Love.
