Getting Involved in Your Community |
There are a lot of clubs that contribute to the community. Kiwanis, Lions, I could go on and on. All of them should be recognized more. If you're not clubby and you want to contribute to your community, write letters to the editor about what your community needs to concentrate on.
The City Managers office always welcomes input from individuals. Anyone is welcome to attend city council meetings to get a good idea on what the town is focusing on. Your two cents is valuble. You don't need to be a lawyer to bring up a traffic problem or how you feel about how the police department is handling problems in your area.
Actually, if you get up in the morning and be the best person you can be, you're making a contribution, but if you have a passion about anything that you could share with the community, you might make a vital difference. Wow, that would look good on a resume.
