Warm Mascara Tube Before Using

I don't use mascara often, but when I do, I let the container soak in hot water for a few minutes. It always makes it last longer plus it goes on easier without any of the clumping!

Warm Mascara With Body Heat

I agree that warming the mascara helps. I'm lazy though. I just sit on it first thing when I sit to put my makeup on. It's amazing how much heat your body can generate.

Using Mascara

To create the effect of rounder eyes, first apply one coat as you normally would. Then just coat the upper, outer lashes of your eyes.

To create a more natural effect, wiggle the wand at the base of your lashes so that the product is concentrated there. Then just swipe upward.

When applying mascara to the bottom lashes, don't hold the wand horizontally like you would when you coat your upper lashes. Instead, hold it vertically and swipe the tip of the wand across your bottom lashes.

Preventing Mascara "Raccoon Eyes"

In humid weather, mascara can smear around your eyes and make you look like a raccoon. A final coat of clear mascara will seal in the color and prevent that look.

Using Mascara

I learned this recently. When applying mascara, remove the wand from the tube and wipe the excess off with a tissue before use. No more clumpy eyelashes. I place the want on toilet paper and roll it around a bit then clean the end of the wand. Throw the toilet paper away and I'm all ready to go. I can't believe what a difference it makes.

Mascara Tip

Recently, I purchased a new mascara. Immediately I realized I didn't care too much for the brush in it. I kept the old mascara as well. I now take the old mascara's brush and insert it in the new mascara, just long enough to get it coated and then re-insert it in the old container. It's good for a couple of uses. But I'm able to get the "right" amount of mascara on my lashes using the old brush, it's better than getting all those terrible globs of mascara while using the new mascara and its brush.

Make Up Tips

While putting on your foundation, just place your mascara somewhere next to your body. The mascara will heat up to your body temperature and it will be so much easier to apply. I usually place it down in my bra or you can put it under your leg if you're sitting down. It doesn't dry it out at all, just makes it smooth for application.

Also, if you sometimes get a shaky hand, place a plastic spoon over your eyelid just above your lash line. The mascara will end up on the spoon, not on your lid.

One more tip for your mascara. I bend the wand just a little at the end of the brush to make about a 45 degree angle. Hope these little tips makes your beauty routine easier.

I agree - please don't add anything to your mascara tube.

But instead of the hot water method mentioned, I have also used a blow dryer set on warm on a closed tube of mascara.

The warm air loosens the mascara and makes it thinner.

This is also a good way of extending your mascara and getting the very last bit out of the tube!
