Before Leaning Ladder Against The House
Put old socks on the end top of your ladder before leaning it against the side of your house. This will help prevent scratches from the metal at top of the ladder. Some ladders have some type of built-in protection, but many older ladders don't.

We used old towels and wrapped duct tape around to hold in place. Has been on now for four years and still holding good.
