Take Control of Your Gas Prices |

- Car pool. Join your neighbors for shopping and picking up the kids.
- Walk. If your convenient store is just around the corner, you could be getting some great exercise.
- Buy a five-gallon gasoline can and fill it up when prices are low. Then, when prices are outrageous, you'll have something to fall back on.
- Look into public transportation (It just might be a money-saving option)
- Inflate your tires properly - Under-inflated tires can cut fuel economy by 2% per pound. For example, if your tires should be at 32 psi and they're actually at 27 psi, your mileage is reduced by 10%.
- Buy gas when the price goes down. Don't wait for the tank to get near empty. If you see a good deal, catch it before it's too late.
- Your car's air conditioner reduces mileage by 10 to 20%. So, if possible, you could try the windows on a nice day.

If anyone wishes to pass this on to a radio or TV station or other media in your area, maybe we can make gas companies notice that we are mad as he-- and won't take this anymore At least pass it on to your friends. ----------------------------------------------------
I hope the following suggestion can be posted on your gas price forum.. I hope that your sponsors are not petroleum companies or it will not be in your interests to promote such anarchy. --------------------------
What are we going to do about the gas prices? My Idea was to promote a sneaky way to make the gas station chains suffer one month at a time for their price fixing...
The idea is to get a newspaper or a radio/TV station to promote my suggestion that we all become "Gas PESTS"
We have a few big refiners which can be targeted in order until they drop their prices ...
P/ Stands for Petro Canada (or Philips, m"O"bil and B"P" in the US) and we should boycott them on Jan, May, Sept
E/ Stands for Esso (or Exxon and ch"E"vron in the US) and we should boycott them on Feb, June and Oct
S/ Stands for Sunoco and Shell and we avoid them on Mar, July and Nov
T/ Stands for "Texaco" and "Take" your pick of the remaining gas companies and shun them on Apr, Aug and Dec
I figure that the ones who are boycotted will drop their prices maybe 10% or more to attract some business and the others will follow when they get ignored. You can still choose to ignore them until they complain to head office or start filling up at their lower price. They will choose to NOT go bankrupt and prices will drop across the board. If they raise their prices again, during the same month, continue the boycott..
What do you think of the Accronym and would it apply to station names in your state? As long as everyone is working from the same P. E. S. T. list in your state it will get their attention. I think we could even rule the futures market because the speculators would be following our lead instead of leading while we follow.
Some bumper stickers would be great, but too many people are afraid of sticking anything on the paint nowadays. Do you think that painted bumpers were a plot to prevent freedom of expression?
What do you you think of the plot? Easy enough to remember, but what can we do to encourage Gas-Card payers to use their Mastercard or Visa at "other" stations?
Actually it would be better if we all paid cash, which would blind the gas companies to how much each customer is spending on gas.. Right now they can tell if you change your driving habits by 20 miles a week.. they do not need to know if we are driving less or more, because that allows them to predict gas usage and reserves. I am sure that the company's book value depends on how much each paying customer is worth at business-year-end.
I say to heck with Air Miles and all the gift points too. It is another way of tracking gas usage of those who pay cash.***
Sincerely.. Ron in Toronto :>(
