Frost and cold do not make a bush turn red. Cold kills plants, it doesn't make them turn color. Sunlight is the only thing that will make you burning bush a beautiful red in fall, so if yours is in the shade, that's why your not getting the results you want. =]

I have had a burning bush for several years and, in the fall, it doesn't turn a bright red. The only thing that I can think of is there are trees shading it. My uncle's bush is in the middle of his yard and his gets bright red, just beautiful.

They don't turn red until Autumn.

They will turn red in the fall when the frost and cold hits them.
