Cooling Off Period for Credit Card Use

If you have a tendency to use your credit cards impulsively, try this: put them in a watertight zip-lock baggie. Drop this baggie (sealed shut) inside a larger baggie (or another type of container) that is filled with water. Freeze, preferably at the bottom of a large chest freezer.

The time and trouble it will take you to dig out the cards and thaw them, should give you a "cooling off" period (no pun intended!) to really think about whether you actually want or need that purchase. By the way: no cheating - the microwave will wreck them!
